Group holds vigil for Pelé in front of hospital in SP; patient treats respiratory infection
According to Albert Einstein Hospital, the King of Football fights an infection with antibiotics and underwent a reassessment of chemotherapy therapy for a colon tumor identified in September 2021.
Dozens of Santos fans gathered this Sunday morning (4) in front of the Albert Einstein Hospital, in the capital of São Paulo. The vigil was called on Saturday (3) by social networks. Pelé, 82 years old, has been hospitalized since Tuesday and had a respiratory infection, according to doctors.
Members of the organization have gathered since 10 am in front of the hospital. With children, flags and images of the player, the group held hands at one point. "Long live the King!" wrote one fan.
